Regulatory Plan for FY 2018

The Board of Medicine annually (by August 1) submits to the Governor’s Office and the Administrative Rules Review Committee a plan listing each potential rule that the agency may issue in proposed or final form in the current fiscal year or thereafter. Click here to view the FY 2018 regulatory plan.

5-Year Review of Rules (FY2012-FY2017)

Pursuant to Iowa Code 17A.7(2), the Board of Medicine presents this summary of its comprehensive and ongoing review of the Board’s administrative rules, found under Section 653 of the Iowa Administrative Code. This summary report, which was approved by the Board on July 21, 2017, captures all adopted amendments between January 1, 2012, and June 30, 2017, and identifies potential amendments by topic that may be initiated for adoption by the Board in FY2018 (July 1, 2017, through June 30, 2018). Noticed (Proposed) Rules

ARC 3258C - 
The Amendments for 653 IAC Chapter 8, “Fees,” comprise updates throughout the chapter and recognize fees associated with the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact. The amendments were initiated by the Board on July 21, 2017, and were published in the Iowa Administrative Bulletin on August 16. No comments were received about the amendments at public hearing on September 5. The amendments were presented to the Administrative Rules Review Committee on September 12, 2017.
